Marking are: Columbus Watch Co., Safety Pinion, 202556, ca. 1893.  The dial has small hairline's between the VII & VIII, another next to the V, another by the XI. SSD, SW. The movement is mounted in a gold filed hunter case with no initials. The Columbus Watch Co was founded by a 27 year old, Germany born, Dietrich Gruen. He received a U.S. paten for an improved safety pinion. The company was in business from 1874 - 1903. Measures 41mm, movement size 6, 13mm thin.
